![]() Followers of Christ should have “fruits” (see Galatians 5:22-23) and those fruits should be evident to those around us. Luke 6:35 says: “But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High for He Himself is kind to the ungrateful and evil men.” (NASB). It enhances our food and likewise, we are to enhance the lives of those around us through the Holy Spirit. ![]() The second purpose of salt is one we can relate to today, for flavor. Likewise, we are to preserve the world from the ungodly and lead them to the Lord. The first purpose was to preserve food, especially meat. Salt had specific purposes in the middle east of the first century. ![]() Jesus used this concept often in the gospels. I’ve heard it for years and while I have felt like I understand the general idea of what it means, I decided to do a little studying on what exactly this phrase means. It is a common phrase in the Christian community. ![]()
